I've not played Rock Band so I can't judge. I've just been hooked on GH since number two.

It is for the sake of demographics. Microsoft's lack of skill at covering this up is what's to blame...either that or Polish society. But I don't think you can blame Microsoft for actually going ahead with this.

I dunno...they need to attract a new market of players for it to be a success. It's possible, but I can't see them hitting past 2 million. Of course, depends on the marketing.
I must admit, I only play Guitar Hero and have never touched Rock Band. But...I may buy this instead for two reasons:
a) Competition is good,
b) It's the Beatles.
And...Serious Sam III surely. =p

I don't think Mercs 2 was ruined. Disappointing, yes. But look at the Battlefront games...superb! Pandemic can deliver.
I don't think that's a fair comparison. For example, on the Original Xbox there was Delta Force: Black Hawk Down...you could get 50 players on Live. But now, anything that has 32 players, or more, on consoles is seen as amazing. Times change, and this is more impressive than Unreal Engine 1.
